This page is to help the Meyer family with expenses while their son recovers from a terrible hit and run accident. On December 19, 2023 at 6:18 pm, Octavius was walking his uncle's dog through the neighborhood when a careless and selfish driver struck him and the dog, leaving the scene without even stopping to check on who or what he struck. Luckily, he was walking with his uncle who responded immediately.
Since December 19th, Octavius has battled brain surgery, a brain bleed, severe bruising around the brain, memory loss, cognitive issues, as well as multiple other challenges. His mom and dad, Shelby Klueh and Christian Meyer, have been with him day and night caring for their boy. This young family also has two younger children, Aleecia (3 yrs old) and Elijah (1 yr old), that they are keeping balance for. With all of the time at the hospital, this has caused financial strain on the household. We are asking for help while they navigate these new waters.
Octavius is a funny, bright, caring, and vibrant 14 year old boy, who has already overcome so much in his life. Shelby and Christian have both dedicated their time and love to helping children like Octavius through their work with Childplace, Inc. They help so many children feel safe and loved. Octavius is one of these children. For 1.5 years, Christian and Shelby fostered Octavius until they were finally able to finalize adoption on November 17th of this year. One month and two days later, they were facing a parent's worst nightmare, and the road ahead will be a long and challenging one.
We are asking for help offsetting the financial strain of having multiple days/weeks/months off work caring for their boy. Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
