Help support Evan Stempek on his road to recovery
Donation protected
On Valentine’s Day, CD Craig Stempek’s 5-year-old son, Evan, was kicked in the head by a horse and suffered a traumatic brain injury and open skull fracture. After life saving measures on the scene, EMS arrived and transported Evan via helicopter to Children’s Hospital in Oakland where he underwent emergency neurosurgery and plastic surgery. Evan spent three days in ICU and eventually made it home on Friday the 19th where he will continue his long rehabilitation.
The Stempek family has a long road ahead caring for Evan during his recovery as well as their older daughter, Eden. Both parents are on family leave as Evan requires fulltime care due to the severity of his injury.
The Detention Division created a GoFundMe campaign to help relieve some of the financial strain associated with medical expenses. The Stempek family is facing a difficult time and this support will allow them to concentrate on Evan’s recovery and heal as a family.
Thank you for helping as you are able.
