Help Support Erin's Recovery from Dallas Car Wreck

On January 3rd while on her lunch break in the Dallas metro area Erin was involved in a horrible head-on collision with a wrong way driver traveling at highway speeds. She woke up in severe pain on the side of the road with 2 off-duty first responders who came to her rescue, and by the grace of God, were there to pull her from her truck that had caught fire upon impact.

In the crash Erin sustained significant damage to her face and right leg, fractured vertebrae, cuts and bruises to the remainder of her body, as well as the total loss of her vehicle and all that was inside. After being rushed to the hospital she underwent immediate surgery due to the laceration on her right leg. Days later she underwent facial reconstruction due to a multitude of facial fractures including medial and inferior orbital fractures, nasal fracture, and sinus fractures which involved implanting plates to provide support for shattered bone structure. On 1/16 Erin had her 3rd surgery to repair her shattered fibula and inverted calcaneus.

She is currently at home recovering as best as she can and trying to keep her spirits up - very thankful for the support of her boyfriend Cort and her parents who have come to help her in this trying time. Erin expects she will be out of work healing for at least 2 months. Her disability insurance through her employer will not kick in for 30 days (60% of her normal pay). As these stories always seem to go, after consulting with a legal professional she was told that she will likely not see much regarding an insurance payout because of the situation. On top of the surgeries and overall time to heal physically and mentally, she will also need to purchase a new vehicle, replace her phone, and cover all typical living costs outside of medical bills as she would have had life continued as normal.

Those who know Erin know how kind and compassionate she is, and also how unassuming. She would never be one to ask for help or a handout from anyone, even in such a tramatic and life altering situation. I'm hoping that by setting up this page Erin will be able to rest, recover, and breathe a little bit easier without having to worry as much about how to make up the difference between insurance payouts and what needs to be paid for/replaced. Erin has some of the best friends in the world from many stages of life, now is the time to band together to support our girl.
