Help support Erin’s fight against Breast Cancer
Erin wears many titles along with her name:
wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, friend, coworker and most recently has added Breast Cancer Warrior to that list. Sadly and shockingly on February 24th, 2020 Erin received a call that would forever change her life......
Erin was diagnosed with Breast Cancer...
Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. While Invasive Ductal Carcinoma makes up for 80% of Breast Cancer, Erin’s is “Triple Negative” which is the most
aggressive of this type and has a high rate of
recurrence. While accompanying Erin to one
appointment she shared with me her story breaking the news to immediate family and how she
broke down telling her sister she hoped more
than anything she would “still be around to meet my (newly born ) nephew.” Hearing this
shattered my heart for Erin and her family. Erin is so very young, only being in her 30’s and
raising a step-son of her own. “How can this
happen” i thought, along with “this isn’t fair”.
Since that day I’ve learned just how much is
involved with a newly aqquired diagnosis of
breast cancer and let me say “unfair” is an understatement by far. The fact that treatment is so
costly even with insurance was the second most alarming factor to me. Erin’s “village” of family and friends want to help ease the impact of that
financial blow for her if at all possible and are asking for help on behalf of Erin and her family.
With a great support group of family and friends, amazing physicians and ever changing/growing treatment plan she no doubtably will be
amending her warrior title to Breast Cancer
Survivor and you can help make this possible.
Since that call telling Erin she was diagnosed
with breast cancer came in, Erin has been thrown into a new world chaos and fear full of
appointments, meetings with new physicians,
testing after testing, procedures, new
medication regiments. These appointments
mean missed time from work which leads to lost income that in turn adds to the overwhelming
ever building stress, worry, and fear that is Erin’s new “daily norm”. The financial burden of paying for portions of treatment/medications not covered by insurance along with travel costs for treatment, monthly insurance premium costs etc. is
so very overwhelming for Erin and her family.
Erin’s supporters are asked to help relieve some of the financial burden this devastating diagnose has brought with it by donating here today. Any amount you can give is helpful—no matter how
small and if you aren’t able to donate please help spread the word by sharing the campaign.
Sharing Erin’s story not only helps her get the
much needed financial assistance but also helps bring awareness of breast cancer to others and
the importance of self exams. Erin’s treatment
plan is ever growing and ever changing but as of now will require chemo, with the potential for
any or all of the following: a (double)
mastectomy, radiation, reconstructive surgery, and any thing additional to ensure that Erin can live the long and healthy life she deserves with her family. Erin needs the peace of mind to focus
on her long hard battle ahead with cancer. Our
help for Erin can give her the sound mind she needs so she can focus her attention on being the warrior we know her to be. Thank you for your support and your share!!! ♥️
