Hi, I’m Tanya, one of Erin’s many friends. Her family and I have been communicating and are establishing a Go Fund Me to help Erin and her family navigate through medical treatments and her new life challenges.
On August 26, Erin and her family received devastating news — doctors discovered a brain tumour. After experiencing some word-finding difficulties and challenges expressing herself, Erin sought medical advice, which led to the discovery. Just before her scheduled surgery, a second tumour was also found. On September 8, Erin underwent brain surgery where the main tumour was partially removed. Unfortunately, the second tumour was inoperable due to its close proximity to the motor cortex, where the risk of paralysis was simply too high.
During her recovery, biopsy results confirmed the family’s greatest fear — the tumours are glioblastoma wild type, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Since then, Erin has faced incredible challenges, including aphasia (difficulty understanding or forming language), motor control difficulties and recently seizures. Despite these obstacles, she continues to show immense courage and strength.
Erin has now begun daily chemotherapy and radiation treatments at the Allen Blair Cancer Centre in Regina, which will continue for six weeks. However, because of the aggressive nature of her diagnosis, out-of-country medical treatment options are also being explored in hopes of extending and improving her quality of life.
Funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward medical expenses, travel costs, and support for the family as they navigate this unimaginable journey. Every donation, big or small, helps give Erin more time with her loved ones and provides the opportunity to pursue advanced treatments that may not be available locally.
Erin and her husband Quinn are intergral parts of their community. Together, they run Skulmoski Plumbing and Heating and have always given back to others — volunteering countless hours, especially in the local hockey community, wherever help was needed. Erin also worked full-time at Macleod Elementary School, where her warmth and kindness touched the lives of so many students and families.
They are proud parents to Drayson (Hannah) and Kayden (Ceili), both of whom live in Moosomin. Erin’s family and friends describe her best — kind, compassionate, loyal, and full of joy. She is the kind of person who shows up for everyone — now it’s our turn to show up for her.
Please consider donating, sharing, and keeping Erin and her family in your thoughts and prayers as they fight this battle together.
❤️ Thank you for supporting Erin’s fight against glioblastoma.
