Erin Springer, is a kind-hearted and compassionate person that would do anything for you! Erin is a loving wife to Ashley and a devoted mom to Ethan, Brooklyn and puppy Benny. Erin and Ashley grew up in leduc have made roots and raised their children here. They have been involved in youth sports and have contributed to the community for many years.
This has been a challenging year for Erin, she has felt unwell since last spring. Erin has made many visits to hospital ER's and seen several doctors trying to figure out what was causing her symptoms. Erin waded through the summer with no answers despite several scans, scopes, biopsies, and misdiagnoses. She kept these struggles to herself for months, losing weight, in constant pain, and feeling very defeated.
Erin is now facing the biggest fight of her life, she was quietly diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in November, 2021. This news of course was devastating to her immediate family, her extended family and many dear friends. Erins Mom Marlene, Dad Jerry, sister Jodie and brother Jason are not new to the world of cancer and unfortunately have had to face this ugly disease many times.
Anyone that knows this family will know, that to ask for help is a huge challenge, and not in their character. But now comes the time to reach out to family and friends to help this wonderful person who is in need of our support.
Erin's turmor is currently non operable in Canada. We are researching options for treatment and surgery in the United States. Applications to these clinics for assessment have been initiated. These types of treatments of course come at a cost, short term goals include the financial burden of the appointments and hospital fees, transporation and accomodation. Long term goals are aiding in supporting the family during this trying time in any way they need.
Erin is a fighter and has completed 7 rounds of chemotherapy, all with an amazing attitude and strength that we can be proud of. The Chemo has not been as effective as originally hoped and surgery has not been an option for her. Despite the diagnosis, and the challenging times, Erin currently is still receiving chemo and continues to fight with a smile on her face.
Erin has been unable to work as an Educational Assistant which has also added to financial loss and hardships. We hope to help Erin, Ashley, Ethan, and Brooklyn both emotionally and financially with your support. Any donation would be greatly appreciated. And if you know Erin, she will be humbled by your generosity.
Thanks to everyone who is able to help. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.
