Metastatic cancer strips life away from you bit by bit. First, it takes your health. Then it takes your time, your job, and finally your future. Magically, you learn to rebuild in this new world despite all of the hardships you face. You find kindness in people you never knew cared. You learn that you’re more important to some people than you ever imagined. And above all, you will make sure the ones that you care for learn how much you truly love them. This is the life my dear friend Erin is living. I say friend, but really she is like a sister to me.

For the past several years I’ve watched this disease steal from her what many take for granted. Thing is, no one would ever know the struggles she faces daily. She has always been the kind of person that smiles through the pain, that makes sure everyone around her is happy and she is always looking for that silver lining.

No one will ever give up on Erin and she surely won’t give up on herself either. She is a single mom and has two beautiful young children that she is raising to make a positive impact in this world and she is no where near finished yet.

No one can cure Erin’s metatastic breast cancer.
