Help Support Eric & Sunshine Iversen

In the spring of 2023, our little construction company was blessed with a huge gift: the addition of master carpenter Eric Iversen. He and his wife, Sunshine, moved all the way from Oregon to join our crew. From day one, they’ve become family—sharing meals, holidays, prayers, and life’s milestones with us.

This May, life took an unexpected turn. Toward the end of the month, Eric—who hardly ever gets sick—began experiencing severe headaches and stomach pain. After multiple ER visits with no clear cause, his symptoms grew worse. On May 28th, Eric’s pain became unbearable, his vision blurred, and his blood pressure spiked. A CT scan revealed the cause: a brain bleed from a hemorrhagic stroke.

It was touch and go, but by God’s grace and excellent doctors, Eric’s condition was stabilized. He spent nearly a week in the ICU, with Sunshine faithfully by his side. Through June and July, Eric made miraculous progress in his recovery. By mid-July, he was able to begin working part-time again, carefully easing back into the physically demanding world of framing in Arizona’s summer heat.

We are so grateful that Eric is expected to make a full recovery. But the journey has brought heavy challenges: weeks out of work, extensive medical testing, hospital stays, and ongoing follow-up care. With the help of the hospital’s financial team, Eric and Sunshine now know what it will take to get caught up and back on steady ground.

We’re rallying together to help them close this gap. Every gift—big or small—makes a difference. Your generosity will not only ease the burden of medical bills, but will also remind Eric and Sunshine that they are surrounded by a community who loves them deeply.
