Help Support Emma Jenkins

Upon waking up on the morning of Monday, January 31st Emma Jenkins suffered a stroke that affected half of her body and her face. She was airlifted to Sick Kids hospital in Toronto for treatment. There it was discovered she had suffered several smaller strokes prior and she was also given the difficult diagnosis of Moyamoya disease, a rare, chronic and progressive condition that affects the arteries in the brain and can cause strokes and seizures. Upon recieving this diagnosis, Emma donated blood to help further research.. Further proving yet again what a strong, beautiful, kind heart she has despite the struggle she is enduring. Emma continues to undergo testing and will have to stay at Sick Kids for an undetermined amount of time. Despite everything, Emma is determined to keep smiling… Even if her body struggles to let her do so.

 

To know Emma is to love her. Emma has such a huge heart and beautiful smile and shows love and kindness to everyone she meets. She is a huge part of the Holy Cross community where she attends as a grade 11 student and is deeply loved by friends, students and staff alike. She is a loved daughter, sister and friend. She is a lover of cows and cupcakes and bringing people joy with her infectious smile and laugh and the occasional silly face while sticking her tongue out, greeting her friends with a “hey girl hey!”.

 

Through this fundraiser we hope to help with the cost of travel, food, necessities, the loss of work and other expenses that her and her loving mother Lori endure. We ask that you help to support Emma and Lori by easing their financial burden as they focus on helping Emma to recover. We also hope that through this fundraiser we are able to bring a smile to a girl who so often brings a smile to others ❤️
