Hi everyone!

I'm Emily. Or Em. I'm a trans woman living, working, and taking care of my son in the southeastern United States. As many of you may know, things are a little more dicey for us trans folks in the U.S. than they've been in the past. I have bottom surgery coming up soon (less than a week at time of writing). You might be reading this after it's already happened.

Fortunately, I'm one of the few people who is blessed to have insurance through my employer that covers most of my surgery and hospital expenses, and a little bit for travel and lodging. But not all of them. I'm not sure what the final bill would be, but the part not covered by my insurance (with travel, lodging, and supplies and everything included) is already several thousand dollars. I'm starting with a modest goal of $7000. This number should more than take care of my additional need, and anything I receive beyond it, I plan to donate to trans charities like the Trans Justice Funding Project, translifeline.org, Trans Youth Emergency Project, etc.
