On September 19, 2025, our lives changed forever. My husband, Emiliano Pisares, suffered a massive stroke while he was on his way home from work. Emiliano was rushed to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgeries and a difficult, uncertain hospital stay. Through every challenge, he has shown strength and determination.

Today, Emiliano is in rehabilitation, fighting every day to regain what the stroke took from him. We are now preparing for the next step: transitioning his care from acute rehab to home, where Emiliano will continue to need round-the-clock care and support. While we are incredibly grateful, Emiliano is stable enough to return home, this new chapter comes with significant challenges. The reality is that the level of care Emiliano needs is intense and costly, far beyond what we ever imagined.

Emiliano has always been the one who took care of everyone else before himself. He is strong, hardworking, and has always been the foundation of our family. Seeing Emiliano now, struggling with tasks he once did effortlessly, is heartbreaking in ways that are difficult to express.

We are facing challenges we could never have prepared for. The stroke brought not only emotional devastation but also an overwhelming financial burden. The costs continue to grow, especially now that Emiliano will be receiving long-term care at home.
