Help Support Emari Ballard's Leukemia Battle

Donation protected
Erick and Lauren Ballard's baby girl, Emari, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia on 8/17/2020. I've known Erick Ballard for almost 20 years and he is one of the kindest, hardest working and most talented people I've ever met. As a full time working musician  locally, regionally and internationally, it doesn't get much better than Erick aka EBeats On The Beats! When the economy was negativley impacted by the pandemic this year and all the gigs and shows were cancelled, he pressed forward, found a job and continued to do whatever it takes to support his family.  His impact on the community both musically and socially is positive and well respected. Lauren Ballard has been an extremely hard working and dedicated RN at Regions South 9 for 13 years. Due to her high risk of exposure, Lauren will not be able to work for the next several months.  Please see the flyer in the updates for info on how her team at Regions is helping raise funds to support the family.  I know that if both these loving parents could, they would work 24/7 non-stop to help their little girl fight this battle financially. Unfortunately, that is not the case when dealing with this kind of battle and both he and his wife Lauren will need to take time away from work to take care of their 18 month old daughter Emari and 12 year old son Emere.

As of today,  August 25th, Emari has the genetic mutation called GLIS2. At the Children's Hospital Minneapolis, Emari’s current treatment plan consists of her receiving aggressive chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant.  Any donation that you can provide to help with monthly and medical bills will be gratefully appreciated. Below are Erick's words as he and Lauren face this challenge together. I will keep this page updated and I have also included a link to Emari's Journey page on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/emarisamljourney/ Erick and Lauren's faith and positive attitude are something to be admired.  I will stand with them and believe that their beautiful baby Emari will be healed.  Thank you for your support and prayers.

FROM ERICK -

8/19/2020 Hello everyone! On Monday morning Lauren & I had to take our daughter Emari to the ER due to her being very ill for a while. This was our third visit to the ER to try to figure out what was wrong with our little girl. We had the doctors do some blood work and they diagnosed Emari with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. This is gonna be a long fight but Emari is strong! We want to thank everyone for their love, prayers, and support during this time. Our faith in God let’s us know the He’s able!! God Bless!

8/24/2020  - My wife (Lauren) and I would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, kind words, and prayers. We have a long road ahead of us in helping out precious daughter Emari fight and beat this battle with leukemia. Many of you have reached out asking how can you help. Due to Lauren and I having to take time away from work a donation would be greatly appreciated to help keep up with our monthly and medical bills. Anything helps.

8/25/2020 Please pray for Emari! She has to undergo a Lumbar puncture today and get a feeding tube placed! GOD IS GOOD!

8/25/2020 So let’s start from the beginning....Emari’s journey officially started on 8/17/2020 when we headed to the emergency room for the 3rd time. After demanding that doctor draw labs we got the horrible news that our 17 month old daughter has Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Shortly after being admitted we learned that there are different genes of Leukemia. Emari has the genetic mutation called GLIS2. Emari’s current treatment plan consist of her receiving aggressive chemotherapy and then a bone marrow transplant.

8/26/2020 We would love to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayer, comforting words, and financial help during this time. A lot of you have asked about sending donations through Go Fund Me. My friend Jay Corkran has reached out and wanted to help me set a site up. We are still uncertain on how long this journey is gonna be but we do know that bills will pile up and help is still needed. So please donate today. If you have already blessed us thank you. If you know someone else that could be a blessing to us in this time we would appreciate it if you could share this link.

8/27/2020 We know that anything is possible with God on our side! He will heal our precious daughter Emari! We are seeking the best treatment for our daughter to fight this battle with Leukemia and medical bills will be high, but it’s worth it for our daughters life. We are seeking any help we can get. No donation is to small to help us. Even if you just take time to share our page let someone else be aware of our situation. Blessing from my fam to yours. Thank you!

UPDATE!
3/36/2021
From The Ballards
Good morning everyone.
So we got news yesterday that we weren’t expecting....After this last (4th) round of chemo Emari’s leukemia is still there! She went from 0.2% back up to 0.6%. While this doesn’t seem like a lot, the transplant team won’t take her until she has ZERO leukemia in her bone marrow because of the high incidence of relapse when there is any form of leukemia (even a tiny fraction) in the bone marrow!
There are a host of different options to take going forward which we have discussed with our oncologist! One being possibly having to relocate for a while to Philadelphia! Our oncologist has consulted multiple other experts in Emari’s condition and we wholeheartedly trust (with God leading) his recommendations! We still have faith and trust God through all of this, it’s just taking longer then we thought! God’s timing is different than our timing! GOD IS SO AWESOME! Please continue to pray for Emari and our family!
