I am reaching out to share that a good friend of ours, Ely has recently been diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, and our hearts are absolutely broken for her and her family. If you know Ely, you know she is one of the most kind, selfless, and caring people you could ever meet. She is always the first to show up when someone needs help, always putting others before herself, and always doing it with a smile. She has a heart of gold and a strength that inspires everyone around her.
Ely is also a dedicated Early Childhood Educator at Lil Snowflakes Childcare Centre, where she spends her days caring for and nurturing young children. She pours so much love, patience, and kindness into the kids she works with, helping shape their lives in such a meaningful way. The same compassion she shows to her family and friends is what she brings into her work every single day.
Just recently, Ely had to travel to the Philippines for surgery to remove a mass. She spent several weeks in the hospital, facing this frightening situation far from home, which resulted in a very large and unexpected medical bill. Now Ely is preparing for the next part of her journey. She will be returning to Labrador, where she will undergo at least 6 months of chemotherapy, along with travel to St Johns for a procedure to have a port placed for treatment. As she focuses on fighting this disease, she will be unable to work for an extended period of time. No one should have to carry this kind of emotional and physical burden while also worrying about finances.
We are asking, from the bottom of our hearts, if you are able to help Ely during this incredible difficult time. Any donation, no matter how big or small, will go toward covering her medical expenses from the Philippines and helping ease the financial stress she faces the fight of her life.
If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Ely in your thoughts and prayers. Your support, in any form, truly means the world. Let’s come together and show Ely the same love and kindness that she has always given so freely to others.
