Help Support Ellen Hansen’s Road to Recovery

Hello, I’m Kathleen Josephson. I created this Go Fund Me account to help my sister in law, Ellen Hansen, as she is currently fighting for her life in the hospital.

 

Open heart surgery was deemed necessary for Ellen after her doctors decided her mitral valve regurgitation could potentially be damaging her heart. On June 6, surgery was performed to fix her valve, but there were rare and serious complications. The right side of Ellen’s heart stopped functioning properly, causing other organs to suffer as a result. After being placed on dialysis and life support (ECMO), Ellen seems to be improving little by little, day by day.

 

It is going to be a long road to recovery for Ellen, one that involves several weeks in the ICU, with additional time on different types of life support to help her body heal, as well as a lot of physical therapy.

 

Many friends and family have reached out to ask how they can help. Ellen’s co-workers and family have covered a lot of the food needs, and those same co-worker friends have helped with a gift card to pay for hospital parking expenses and even a cleaning lady. For that we are grateful! The only other need we currently have is monetary assistance with all the medical bills that will begin to trickle in. We hope that any donations you so generously give will help Lance and Ellen get a jumpstart in paying for this lengthy and unexpected hospital stay.
