Help Support Eliza's Medical Costs

Eliza, our medically complex little warrior, is enduring her eighth extended hospital stay in just her two short years of life. So far, she has spent 25% of her life in hospitals, facing one challenge after another with remarkable resilience. In her latest trial, an incredible surgical team performed emergency bowel surgery and saved her life in the wee hours of the morning on September 12. During the six-week hospital stay that followed, she underwent a total of seven surgeries. She celebrated her second birthday from her hospital bed with help from a wonderful hospital staff.

After a mere two weeks at home, Eliza returned to the hospital. She has now been there 11 additional days battling illness, the beginnings of pneumonia, a bacterial and fungal tracheal infection, and additional bowel issues -- once again showing her inspiring resilience and determination. She is undergoing another abdominal surgery today (Nov 19th), and with her medical challenges, she will likely require frequent hospitalizations throughout her life and ongoing medical care for a tracheostomy, ventilator, G-tube, J-tube, extensive bowel reconstruction, and numerous therapies. While insurance and other resources cover most hospital costs, many essential expenses still fall on her family.

Eliza’s parents moved their family from rural Wyoming to eastern Idaho to be closer to critical pediatric care. Their September 12 experience proved the wisdom of that move. They are understandably stretched very thin, both emotionally and financially.

People have expressed a desire to help and just don't know how. The beauty of a community is that when many people give a little, it makes a big difference. Eliza’s parents reluctantly agreed to opening this means for such people to contribute to her needs.
