Dear friends, family, and community,
Please support Elizabeth Rivera as she gradually recovers and heals from an accident. For the past few months she has been in the recovery process of dealing with a traumatic brain injury. In December 2020, Elizabeth was walking towards her car when she was suddenly hit by a man on a high speed bike in Richmond, CA. After falling to the concrete pavement, she experienced nausea, extreme dizziness, whiplash, and momentary loss of vision and hearing.
Elizabeth was rushed to the emergency room and was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury and whiplash. Post accident, Elizabeth had extreme difficulty completing many simple tasks without physical support. She has been gradually recovering for the past few months, but needs continued support. Elizabeth is still suffering from vertigo and equilibrium issues, and other physical ailments as a result of the accident.
At the moment, we are asking people for financial support to assist with medical bills and living expenses as she continues to stabilize her income amongst the COVID pandemic. Elizabeth's fundraising goal is $5,000. This money will go directly towards essential expenses including medical bills, medicines, housing and housing amenities, transportation costs, food, mental health resources, and other materials needed for recovery.
A strong, humble, and thoughtful community worker and talented cultural artist, Elizabeth is cared for by many as a daughter, sister, kasama, leader, and friend to all she crosses paths with. A kind, healing, generous, and beautiful person, we hope to collectively provide as much support as we can for this woman who has dedicated her life to serving the people wholeheartedly. Any amount of financial support is deeply appreciated. And whether you donate or not, please share this post, give her a call - and above all, keep Elizabeth in your hearts during this time ~ Maraming Salamat <3
Any amount is deeply appreciated.
