Hi, my name is Jeff Datzman, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my wife, Martha Datzman, for her brother, Eddie Smith, and his family.
Last night, Eddie experienced a tragic accidental fall at home that resulted in a massive cranial injury. After being rushed to the hospital, doctors and surgeons determined that the damage was inoperable and terminal. Eddie remains unconscious, and doctors have told the family that he is not expected to survive beyond the next two to three days.
Eddie is the sole financial provider for his family, which includes his wife Sa, their teenage daughter Daisy, and their three-year-old son, Lucas. As you can imagine, this devastating situation has left Sa and the children in shock, heartbroken, and completely unprepared for the financial challenges ahead.
How the Funds Will Help
This fundraiser will help the Smith family with:
Immediate expenses such as travel, lodging, meals, and time away from work while at the hospital
End-of-life and memorial costs once those arrangements must be made
Ongoing support for Sa, Daisy, and Lucas as they begin to rebuild their lives in the wake of this unimaginable loss
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly to Eddie’s family to ease their financial burden and help them focus on being together during these final moments.
