Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
UPDATE: Well Eddie is home but still has a long road ahead of him regaining the strength to walk again. We spent this past week getting all the equipment needed...bed, walker, wheelchair, CPAP machine. He is ready to continue his physical therapy and be able go on hikes.

UPDATE: Eddie is working hard to come home. He is having to learn to walk again. We are in the process of preparing our condo for his return. We are getting equipment, bed, walker, wheelchair and CPAP. We’re also working on getting in home care for when I’m at work. Thank you those who have donated. It’ll be a long road but Eddie is working hard.
Even if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story with others. Every share and every prayer mean the world to us.

I am reaching out today with a heavy heart, asking for your support in helping my husband, Eddie Cathey, as he recovers from a life-threatening experience that has changed our lives forever.
On November 10, 2024, my husband was unconscious when I found him at home after work, and we almost lost him. His condition was touch-and-go for several days, and we were uncertain if he would pull through. Thankfully, he is still with us today, but his road to recovery is long, tough, and uncertain. He is still currently at the hospital recovering.
Eddie has a condition that causes life-threatening health issues that require him to stay in the hospital. He is getting better day by day, and we pray he gets strong enough to come home.
The emotional, physical, and financial toll this has taken on our family has been overwhelming. We have spent countless hours at the hospital, supporting him through his recovery, and now we are focusing on helping him rebuild his strength. The medical bills are piling up, and we are struggling to manage the costs of his treatments, therapies, and necessary medical equipment. Due to me having taken extra time off of work, household bills are piling up too.
As we navigate this difficult time, we are humbly asking for your support. Any contribution you can make—whether large or small—will help us cover medical bills, ongoing care, and other essential expenses. Your generosity will allow my husband to focus on his recovery without the added burden of financial stress.
Even if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing our story with others. Every share and every prayer mean the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness, love, and support. We are truly grateful for each and every one of you.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Shelly Cathey and family.
UPDATE:
Eddie is on the road to recovery
After being his back for so long, he lost muscle and the ability to walk. He is relearning to walk. His physical therapist said it should take 6-8 weeks until he’s fully functional. He has already been up on feet and taken a few steps. However a few medical issues have caused some set backs but he is still working hard to get home.
Thank you all for your love and support. It’s a long road to recovery but he is striving to shorten that road.
