Help Support Ebony in Her Fight Against Breast Cancer

There is someone who has always been there for me, my sister Ebony.
Ebony is caring, thoughtful, and generous.

At the start of this year, Ebony was the healthiest and fittest she had ever been. She was excited about her new job, making plans to travel overseas for the first time in years, and looking forward to what she believed would be her best year yet.

But in March 2025, our family’s world was turned upside down when, at just 29 years old, Ebony was unexpectedly diagnosed with aggressive HER2+ Stage 2 breast cancer after noticing a lump.

Due to the fast-growing nature of the cancer, her life changed completely within weeks as a whirlwind of specialist appointments, scans, biopsies, and countless tests began. Because Ebony is still so young and has not yet had a family, she was faced with many overwhelming and time-sensitive decisions before treatment could start, things she had never imagined having to think about at her age.
She underwent IVF egg retrieval surgery to preserve her chances of having a child in the future, as chemotherapy can have lasting effects on fertility. It all happened quickly, with little time to process, as she prepared to begin treatment.

After this emotional and exhausting process, Ebony bravely started 18 weeks of chemotherapy, which included weekly blood tests and hormone injections and a blood transfusion followed by a lumpectomy and lymph node removal surgery.

Chemotherapy was extremely challenging and forced Ebony to spend a lot of time at home. She experienced nausea, muscle soreness, changes in taste, hot flushes, and overwhelming fatigue. Because chemotherapy left her immunocompromised, she had to be extra cautious to avoid illness or infection, which meant limiting contact with friends and family. Many of her normal routines had to change.
She is now beginning three weeks of radiation therapy and will continue a year of immunotherapy as part of her recovery.

Ebony has always been a hard worker, determined, independent, and never one to complain. Through her dedication and perseverance, she achieved her dream of buying her own home in 2020. Even while undergoing treatment, she has continued to work from home with the support of her amazing workplace.

Despite her strength and resilience, the financial burden has become overwhelming. Between out-of-pocket medical costs including medications, surgery fees, IVF expenses, and radiation treatments, along with her mortgage and living costs, it has been a lot to manage on her own.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease some of that financial pressure, allowing Ebony to focus on her health and recovery without the constant stress of mounting bills.
Every donation, no matter how small, will go directly towards her medical and living expenses during this difficult time. Your kindness, generosity, and words of encouragement mean more than we can express.

Thank you for helping us support Ebony as she continues this fight with strength, courage, and hope.
