Help Support Dylan’s Recovery from a Hit and Run

Donation protected
From Dylan’s mom Hailey Moss and his aunt Melany Moss:

On Monday, April 13, Dylan Moss was the victim of a horrific hit and run while on his way to work. He was rushed to a trauma centre in Toronto with life-threatening injuries, where he still remains. You can read the news report here

Dylan spent a week in an induced coma with a breathing tube while he had to undergo brain surgery, two pelvic reconstructive surgeries, and a host of invasive procedures. He has now been upgraded to a step-down bed in the ICU and is breathing on his own, but every day brings complications and unknowns.

Every single thing in Dylan’s world has changed in an instant. Dylan will be dealing with the repercussions of being the innocent victim of this crime in every way – physically, emotionally, and legally.

Please help us ensure that while he is on the long road to recovery, he is not also worrying about how to recover financially.

The road ahead for our sweet Dylan will be long. We are hopeful and remaining positive while he is growing stronger, but even in the best-case scenario, Dylan’s recovery will be complex and expensive.

While we are doing everything we can to support him at this stage, Dylan is obviously not able to work at his job as a new welder, and very soon risks losing the apartment he loves and has worked so hard for.

There is no timeline for Dylan leaving the hospital yet. His recovery could take years and we don’t know what that will look like. But we do not want him to lose everything. We need him to have the hope that his recovery can be supported, his home is still there, his bills can be paid, and that he will be able to return to the life that he built and loves.

Hailey, Melany, and Dylan's partner Robert have been with Dylan at the hospital every single day, and there are promising gains being made every day. Dylan is talking a bit and he knows we are there and that we love him. We want to thank everybody that has checked in, and has asked how they can help – this is how.

The driver of the car that hit him has still not been apprehended. If you have any information regarding this crime, please contact Peel Police.

With love and gratitude,
Hailey and Melany
