Mitra is a devoted ophthalmologist, a courageous cancer survivor, and the proud owner of a small private practice she built with love and perseverance. Ten years ago, she overcame Stage II cancer—an experience that reshaped her life and deepened her compassion for others. Just as she was rebuilding her future and getting her practice off the ground, life threw another unimaginable curveball.

Last week, Mitra was suddenly diagnosed with an acute life-threatening situation that required her to be airlifted by helicopter for emergency surgery. The situation became even more complex, requiring open-heart surgery shortly afterward. She is now facing a long and delicate road to recovery.

While Mitra has always been financially responsible and prepared as best as she could, the urgency of this situation—combined with mounting medical expenses and the challenge of keeping her small practice afloat—has become overwhelming.
