I am Samantha. I am trying to raise money for my husband, Doug Shiver's funeral/memorial service. Doug was a bartender at Houligans for 15 years and met some amazing people. He also was a mechanic for over 20 years. Even before I met Dougie, he had a reputation for helping people out. Locked your keys in your car? Doug. Car issues? Doug. Breakfast on Sunday morning after a long night at the bar? Doug's house. Nothing to do on the 4th of July? Doug's house. No family around to do Thanksgiving? Doug's house. Need a helping hand? Call Doug. The list goes on.

I am very proud to call Dougie my husband. He loved my kids like they were his, he loved me, and he provided for us until he physically couldn't. He was a guy you could call and ask for advice on fixing just about anything. One thing we were hoping to start back again was the 'anyone can come Thanksgiving' because he thought everyone should have a place to eat at Thanksgiving.

The last 2.5 years have been hard on Doug and me. First, I almost lost my life to sepsis from pneumonia; then Doug's health started going majorly downhill. I want to give our Doug the memorial/funeral service he deserves. So please, instead of sending plants or flowers for me to kill... help me give Doug the service he deserves!
