Help Support Donna and Turk!

On June 12,2022 our Mom,(Nana)Donna Zartler 68 years old was admitted to Northwestern hospital with severe side and back pain. Scans showed suspicious spots on her liver , she was scheduled for a biopsy the next day.

Our worst fear was confirmed her cancer was back,this time in her liver and spine .( Mom is a breast cancer survivor 2008)

We met with her Oncologist and were told she has high grade neuroedocrine tumor , the most aggressive and rarest form of cancer. We then discussed her treatment plan.Mom went through several scans and it seems each day the news just kept getting worse… not only did she have cancer in her liver and spine but it is also in her lungs, bone marrow. As you can imagine this news was devastating to our family.

The next day Moms port was put in. She started her 3 sessions of chemo in the hospital and each session was 3 hours long. Leaving her extremely weak and requiring full time oxygen.

During her 5 week hospital stay she needed 2 blood transfusions and her kidneys started to fail.

Mom finally got to come home after 5 weeks in the hospital. She is requiring 24 hour full time caregiver,oxygen and lots of pain meds.

Much of moms care is not covered by insurance,we want to provide her with the best care possible while trying to balance the growing financial burden to compensate the providers.

Mom is spending lots of time with her husband Turk of 29 years ,her children and 7 grandkids.

Please pray for our Mom , that she gets the strength she needs to continue her treatment plan.

We need more time with her.
