Help Support Donasia’s Recovery Journey
(Organized by Family and Friends)
On October 2nd, Donasia suffered a sudden AVM rupture (arteriovenous malformation) and required emergency brain surgery. Against the odds, she survived — a true miracle — but her recovery will be a long and challenging road.
She has remained in the hospital and has since undergone multiple tests and procedures, including angiograms, CT scans, EVD drain placements, and an additional surgery for a permanent shunt, all while being closely monitored around the clock. Donasia is now out of the ICU and currently in a “step down” unit. The doctors are managing her symptoms and prepping her to move into an acute rehab facility sometime over the next several days. With the aid of the Physical Therapy team, Donasia has been up on her feet, re-learning how to walk and regain balance and coordination — a huge step in her recovery.
Donasia will still need additional procedures and a final surgery to fully remove the AVM to prevent future complications. Her medical team is carefully developing a plan for the next steps.
If the procedure goes as planned, doctors expect she will be out of work for at least three months or more while she focuses on healing. During this time, she will need help keeping up with bills, loss of income, and any unforeseen medical expenses.
We are asking for donations to help relieve some of the financial burden and allow Donasia to focus fully on recovery.
Any and all contributions — big or small — are deeply appreciated. Even more than financial help, your prayers, kind words, and emotional support mean the world to her and our family as we navigate this difficult time together.
Thank you for your love, support, and generosity.
