In December, our lives changed forever when my boyfriend, Don, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Since then, he has been fighting every day with incredible strength and determination, facing chemotherapy, radiation, appointments, treatments, and all of the uncertainty that comes with a cancer diagnosis. Unfortunately, our journey has recently taken an even more difficult turn. Last week, Don suffered a fall and broke his hip. While he was being evaluated, doctors discovered a 2 cm tumor on his brain. He now needs brain surgery, followed by continued chemotherapy and radiation treatments. This has been an overwhelming and frightening time for both of us. Don is already fighting one of the hardest battles imaginable, and now he is facing surgery and an even longer road to recovery. After his hip injury, he also needs help getting back on his feet and regaining his strength and independence.
We have looked into every resource and assistance program we can find, but unfortunately, the help available to us is limited. Even with insurance, there are still significant expenses that aren't fully covered. The costs of copays, medical care, transportation to and from appointments, medications, and everyday needs are quickly adding up. We are asking for help so that we can focus on what matters most right now: helping Don fight, heal, and get back on his feet. Any money raised will go toward medical copays and expenses, transportation to treatments and appointments, and the additional costs that come with his recovery and ongoing cancer treatment. If you are able to donate, no amount is too small, and every contribution will mean more to us than we can put into words.
