Thank you for taking a moment to read this.
I’ve created this GoFundMe to help my fiancé, Dirk Stevens, and his three children in England as they navigate an incredibly challenging time.
Dirk’s 15-year-old daughter, Jessica, has Rett Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that leaves her nonverbal and fully dependent on full-time care.
Recently, Jessica had to undergo major surgery to insert rods in her back to correct critical scoliosis. The surgery was essential, but the recovery ahead will be long, delicate, and extremely demanding.
As Jessica’s primary caregiver, Dirk will need to be home with her around the clock during her recovery. This means he cannot work for a few months.
Dirk is also raising two other children—Jake (17) and Charlotte (19)—who both live with him full-time while attending local colleges and working.
Dirk is an amazing, caring, loving father. I could not be prouder of him. He normally works while Jessica attends school, but she will be out of school and travel to London for her appointments is expensive. As many of you know, the cost of caring for three kids adds up quickly—food, clothes, transportation, school needs, etc.
I am hoping that with a little bit of support from a big loving world, Dirk can focus entirely on Jessica’s care, without the added weight of worrying about how to make ends meet.
If you are able to help in any way—whether through a small donation, a share on social media, or a prayer for Jessica—we would be deeply grateful.
Your support would help cover essentials during Jessica’s recovery period and give Dirk the chance to be the father and caregiver he needs to be right now.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your love, compassion, and generosity.
