Cancer has no place to stay in our lives, especially the life of Diane Garcia.

Diane was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung Cancer back in October 2019 and as you can imagine this was a complete shock to her, her family and friends.  Diane’s story started with a trip to urgent care after experiencing shortness of breath walking up from the basement carrying a load of laundry.  The urgent care staff insistent Diane go straight to the ER for further testing and after a few days of examination and ruling out TB, Diane received the devastating news that would change her life forever.

Diane’s cancer story does not define her, this is only part of her life. Let me tell you about the Diane we all know and love.

If you have the pleasure of knowing Diane, then consider yourself blessed. Diane is one of a kind, she is the Martha Stewart of Northeast Philly. She loves decorating, cooking and taking care of her family. Diane married her sweetheart Ralph 44 years ago on Valentine’s day and the two of them built a strong foundation to share with their family.   

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

One day last year both Ralph and Diane were planning their retirement and since the diagnoses life as they know it has changed. Ralph is working longer hours, taking in overtime when offered to support his family. Working longer hours means time spent away from his wife during the time she needs him the most.  Diane can no longer work due to this disease.
