Help support Devon’s recovery after massive heart attack!

On Sunday May 18th, our family’s world was turned upside down when my brother, Devon, suffered a massive STEMI heart attack—commonly referred to as “the widowmaker.”

Thanks to the quick and heroic actions of his wife, Jamie, who performed CPR for 12 minutes, and their son, who called 911 and directed emergency responders, Devon’s life was saved. First responders continued lifesaving efforts for another 20 minutes before they were able to regain a weak pulse and transport him to Grande Prairie Hospital.

From there, he was stabilized and airlifted to the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, where he has remained in the Cardiac ICU under sedation and on a ventilator.

On Thursday, his son’s 18th birthday, Devon gave his family the greatest gift possible—he woke up and had the ventilator removed. While this is an incredible and emotional milestone, the road ahead remains uncertain. We don’t yet know the full extent of any neurological or physical damage due to the 30 minutes he was without oxygen.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden on Devon’s family as they remain in Edmonton during this incredibly difficult time. Funds raised will go directly toward:

• Temporary accommodations near the hospital

• Meals and daily expenses

• Lost income

• Travel costs

• Future medical and rehabilitation expenses

Anything you can give—no matter how small—will go a long way in helping Jamie and the kids stay by Devon’s side as he continues to fight and heal.

At this time, we kindly ask that friends and extended family give Jamie and the kids the space they need to focus entirely on Devon’s care. Your love, prayers, and support mean the world to them, and they truly feel the strength of everyone standing behind them but we request that you please do not try to reach out and contact them at this point.
