Help Support Derrick

My name is Chrystal and Derrick is my older (and as he would say, wiser) brother.  Last week after not feeling well, it was discovered that Derrick had developed blood clots in his leg that spread to his lungs. A few days after this diagnosis, Derrick suffered a stroke and has since been moved to a hospital that specializes in treatment for stroke. He has undergone surgery to remove a clot from his brain. From what we know so far, this is the first of several procedures that may need to be done to treat Derrick and set him on a path to recovery.  We do not know how long Derrick will need to be in the hospital or, after that, a recovery center (most likely weeks, possibly months).

Derrick is THE most hard-working man I know. He is not one ask to for assistance. So I am asking for help. The road ahead will be a long and costly one. Any donation you are able make will go towards medical bills (which are already piling up), monthly bills, and travel/lodging expenses for my mom and our family who will be there to support him through this time and throughout his recovery.
