Help Derek and Abbey fight against Cancer

I have known Derek since before he was born,  he and my daughter were raised side by side for the first 7 years of their lives and he continues to be a cherished part of our family.  I was devastated to hear the news that Derek was diagnosed with T Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.  

Derek had just finished his Doctorate in Pharmacy and went on a much needed vacation with the love of his life Abbey on a trip to Wyoming. On that trip he was bitten by a fly. His lymph node swelled which he assumed was related to the bite.  He had surgery 6 weeks later to remove the lymph node and found out he had cancer.   He started aggressive chemotherapy immediately and continues his fight.  He will be having a stem cell transplant early 2021. 

Because he had just finished school, he had not yet completed his boards and had not started his career.   

His number one support partner and the love of his life, Abbey, had been recovering from the loss of her dad and grandpa, two of the most influential men in her life. They were taken 3 months apart from each other and within the last year.  And now she is fighting to save the one she planned on spending the rest of her life with.  Abbey put her life and career on hold to become his caregiver.   This is not just Derek's fight, it is Abbey's as well.  

Derek is a fighter, he fought hard to get his degree because he knew this is what he wanted to do.  I have no doubt he will win this battle as well.  

There are so many times, when we hear stories like this, that we want to do something but do not know how to help.   I want to help Derek and Abbey to get the financial assistance that they desperately need so that they can concentrate on fighting for his health without having to worry about money.
