Hi,

My name is Michaela Brown, and I am fundraising on behalf of David Brown, my dad. As his friends and family know, he dearly loves to ride his bicycle every weekend and can often be found completing organized bike rides with his friends. On March 2, 2024 my dad was hit by a distracted driver while he was on mile 63 of the Bloomin' Bicycle Ride in Bartow, Florida. He was immediately airlifted to the hospital where it was discovered he had several skull fractures, as well as a broken tibia and fibula. His leg has since been repaired in surgery but as of today (March 13th), he is still unconscious and on a ventilator to facilitate his breathing. Doctors are optimistic he will come to it soon, but the exact timing is still unknown. He has a long road of rehab for both his leg and head injuries ahead of him. I am starting this fundraiser to help pay for his upcoming medical bills and to help support me and Mom as we navigate finances while supporting him. Any amount helps and is greatly appreciated.
