Dave Jones is the kind of person who has spent much of his life showing up for others. As a beloved Youth Worker with NLHS and valued member of our community, Dave has dedicated his career to supporting young people and making a difference in the lives of those around him. Now, it’s our turn to show up for Dave.

Dave is currently facing significant health challenges that have made it impossible for him to continue working. He regularly receives dialysis and is now also dealing with a narrowing of his vena cava, requiring ongoing medical care and appointments with a vascular surgeon in St. John’s. This has meant frequent travel back and forth between Corner Brook and St. John’s while he works with his medical team to determine the best course of treatment.

As a result, Dave has had to leave his job indefinitely. He is now at the end of his sickness EI benefits and is facing significant financial strain at a time when his focus needs to be on his health and his family. Dave also shares custody of his two children, making this an especially challenging time.

We are hoping to ease some of the financial pressure Dave is experiencing while he navigates this difficult and uncertain period. Donations will help with everyday living expenses, travel and medical-related costs, and provide some stability for Dave and his children while he is unable to work.

Dave has spent countless hours caring for and advocating for others in our community. Now, we have an opportunity to care for him.
