For those who know me from TikTok, Facebook, or through my page, Dan's Journey & Battle, thank you for taking the time to read my story.
My name is Daniel. I am 38 years old, a husband, a father of five children, and a proud grandfather. My youngest children are just 6, 4, and 2 years old. They still need their dad, and I am determined to keep fighting for every possible moment with them.
I am currently battling an extremely rare and devastating medical condition. I have been diagnosed with Dyskeratosis Congenita alongside Head and Neck Squamous Cell Carcinoma. My case is so
rare that I am believed to be the only person in the UK facing this exact combination of diagnoses.
My cancer is considered inoperable, incurable, and terminal. I am receiving palliative care, and I have been told that there are no further treatment options available to me within the UK within the NHS remit.
But I am not ready to give up.
I refuse to accept that my journey ends here without exploring every possible option. As long as there is hope, I will continue searching for specialists, consultations, clinical opinions, and treatments that may offer another chance. I am willing to travel wherever necessary to find the right
medical team and pursue every available opportunity.
I am not just fighting for myself. I am fighting for my wife, my children, my grandson, and the future moments we still dream of sharing together. Every extra day, every milestone, every memory matters.
Unfortunately, this fight comes with overwhelming financial challenges.
Due to my illness, I have been unable to work for over a year, placing tremendous pressure on my family while medical-related expenses continue to grow.
How the Funds Will Help
• Around £2,000 per month for medical-related travel and treatment expenses in Cambridge.
• Approximately £500 or more for each specialist consultation in London, often requiring overnight accommodation due to travel times, treatment schedules, and medication needs.
• Travel and accommodation for appointments, consultations, and potential treatment opportunities
in the UK and abroad.
• Medication, healthcare-related expenses, and essential daily living costs.
• Support for my wife and young children while I am unable to work.
Despite repeatedly seeking grants, assistance, and support programs, we have received little to no financial help. Every consultation, trip, and treatment-related expense has been funded through our own limited resources, which are now exhausted.
Your donation will help us continue pursuing every possible medical option, seek second opinions, access specialist consultations, and keep our family afloat during this incredibly difficult time.
Every donation, regardless of size, makes a meaningful difference. Whether it's £1, £5, £20, or £100, If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with friends, family, colleagues, and on social
media can be just as powerful. A single share could help us reach someone who is able to help.
Your support provides more than financial assistance—it provides hope.
Hope that another specialist may have answers.
Hope that another treatment option may exist.
Hope that I can continue creating memories with my children and spend more precious time with
the people I love.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for your kindness, prayers, generosity,
and support. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with our family and helping us keep hope alive.
With heartfelt gratitude
Daniel & Family
