IM GETTING A NEW HEART!!

Why We Need Your Help

Facing Heart Transplant surgery is not only emotionally challenging but also brings significant financial burdens—including overwhelming medical bills, hospital fees, post-surgery rehabilitation, and everyday living expenses during recovery. Every donation, no matter the size, is a blessing.

Your support means the world. If you have questions or want to learn more about my journey and our updates, please feel free to connect through facebook!

I know for sure right now we will be at duke for 6+ weeks, it could be more! With my doctor being at Duke, the travel back and forth, time away from work for Matt and my parents, medical bills, hotel stays, and food expenses will all add up—that's why we decided to do a GoFundMe to help with these expenses. If you can't give, we ask for your prayers daily!

The Start of a Transplant Journey

For those who may not know, I have been battling a rare and life-threatening genetic heart condition called ARVC, along with Congestive Heart Failure since I was 19. I was a college athlete, professional archer, and it all came to a halt. ARVC is a progressive disease that causes my heart rate to escalate to dangerous levels, often leading to fatal consequences. In 2015, I went into cardiac arrest for the first time, and again in 2018. Unfortunately, my condition is aggressive, meaning it worsens at a much faster rate than usual. My heart failure has caused the pumping action of blood to significantly decrease.

There is no cure, no simple fix. Over the past year, my health has continued to decline. Despite the relentless efforts of my incredible medical team at Duke—some of the best in the country—every treatment option has been exhausted. Being diagnosed with a heart disorder at just 19 years old was incredibly difficult. I’ve fought battle after battle—challenges that many could never begin to understand. I’ve undergone more heart surgeries than I can count, yet I’ve faced every obstacle head-on and never let go. My faith in Jesus has been my anchor, my center of gravity. It is through Him and the unwavering support of my family that I am still here today.

1/31/25 was not an easy day. It was a conversation my team of doctors has worked hard to delay for as long as possible. My echocardiogram revealed worsening symptoms: an ejection fraction of less than 15%, severe regurgitation due to my enlarged heart muscle preventing my valves from closing properly, and an increased burden of PVCs.

With that being said, I am now listed to receive a new heart ❤️

This will be the most challenging season of my life. It will test every ounce of faith we have, but we will get through it because Jesus makes all things possible. I’ve cried countless tears over the past few days—tears of fear, hope, worry over finances, gratitude for my future donor, and the realization that this may be God’s way of healing me. Perhaps His plan is not to heal my original heart, but to give me a new one. I have always believed He is writing my testimony (that I one day want to share with as many people as possible) and this may be part of His will for my healing. I will not stand quiet on how good God has been through all my previous obstacles because even though I'm having to have a transplant, HE IS STILL GOOD!!!!
