Please dig deep and help Dale keep a roof over his familys head in these hard times this is Dales story
April 2023 aged 32 at the time i was diagnosed with bowel cancer after an emergency happened out at black water. Was helicoptered to rocky asap and was there for 7 days doing tests and scan to find out i had 280+ polyps in my large bowel. 5 of which were cancer rest were pre cancer. Was then admitted to rbwh for the extensive procedure of removing my whole large bowel and having a bag for life on my stomach.
Family history is a disease called gardeners syndrome also known as (FAP) FAP stands for Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. It's a rare, inherited condition that significantly increases the risk of developing colorectal cancer. This condition is characterized by the development of numerous polyps in the colon and rectum.
5 weeks after surgery i was put through 6 months of chemo therapy to kill off any mirco cells. Treatment was successful and I finally got to return to work after alot of heart ache back n forth with mines site 8 months after surgery.
Continuing tests ever 6 months everything was looking great till bang on 2 years later where cancer has now spread to my liver and surrounding lymphoids causing a category stage 4 cancer and yet another round of chemo therapy to come in the coming weeks, I have formally been in formed being a stage 4 of 4 this will be a forever on going issue down the track but with chemo therapy will help reduce the risk and allow me to have the adequate surgery on my liver, fingers crossed this chemo sesh will be only 3 months then and 2 months off for surgery and healing
