Hi, my name is Yolanda and I'm looking to raise money for my dearest friend, Corina Trento, as the proud, strong person she is, would NEVER ask on her own. Corina suffered from a rare childhood bone cancer, Ewing Sarcoma - and at just 12 years old, she kicked its butt, but her fight continues. As a result of the cancer, Corina underwent a hip and femur replacement as a child, which later developed a chronic infection that she has been battling with for over a decade. Corina has encountered dozens of major surgeries in an effort to save her leg, sepsis on multiple occasions, and endured a fall resulting in multiple fractures of the same leg, all while caring for her son, who has lived his whole life watching his mom suffer. All of these obstacles have rendered Corina unable to work, and left to make ends meet with a limited income.

On November 24th, 2024, Corina lived her worst nightmare; her father passed away. He and Corina were extremely close; he was her biggest physical, emotional, and financial supporter. Her dad was by her side for every hospital stay, surgery, and bad day. Just one year later, the inevitable finally occurred, and Corina was faced with losing her leg or losing her life. On November 25th, 2025, at just 35 years old, Corina received a full leg amputation without him there to cheer her on.

Corina is a fighter, stronger than any person I've ever known, faced with challenges no child should ever have to face and many adults never will. The biggest hurdle is done, but the road to recovery is long. Corina may or may not be able to walk again, and will need much assistance to regain her independence. In addition to adjusting to her new lifestyle, Corina will need to adapt her home with equipment to help her navigate her surroundings, figure out medical expenses not covered by insurance, a prosthetic leg, travel until she is hopefully able to drive again, and how to continue to be a wonderful mother and provide a life of normalcy to her son. Not to mention, right in the middle of the holidays.
