Help Support Collin’s Road to Recovery
Our hearts are heavy as we share what happened to our friend, Collin Piette , aka Collin Chaos.
On Saturday night, after finishing a DJ shift downtown Grand Rapids, Collin was walking to his car near Rosa Parks Circle when he became the victim of a senseless act of gun violence. Unaware that he had been shot due to the shock and adrenaline, he got into his car and began driving home.
While on his way home, Collin lost consciousness from his injuries and was involved in a serious crash that totaled his vehicle before he could make it safely home.
Collin underwent emergency surgery and now faces a long recovery and will need to stay off his feet for the next several months, making it impossible for him to work.
If you know Collin, you know he is one of the most genuine, hardworking, and selfless people around. He is a familiar face in the Grand Rapids community, A resident DJ at venues including Mojo’s, The B.O.B., and the primary DJ for MIdrag Brunch events. Beyond music, Collin works a physically demanding day job that he can no longer perform while recovering.
Whenever someone needs help, he’s there. Whether it’s fixing a car, moving heavy equipment, lending a hand with a project, or simply offering support when someone is struggling, Collin has always shown up for others without hesitation.
The financial burden ahead is overwhelming. Between mounting hospital bills, lost income, rehabilitation expenses, and the loss of his vehicle, Collin is facing challenges that no one should have to face alone.
Now it’s our turn to show up for him.
No one should have to worry about how they’ll pay their bills while fighting to recover from a traumatic injury. Every donation, no matter the size, will help relieve some of the financial stress and allow Collin to focus on healing.
We are devastated and angry that another act of gun violence has forever changed someone’s life. But in the face of tragedy, we have the opportunity to come together as a community and remind Collin that he is not facing this journey alone.
Please consider donating, sharing this fundraiser, and keeping Collin in your thoughts as he begins the long road to recovery. Every dollar counts.
Thank you for supporting a beloved friend, local DJ, and member of our Grand Rapids community. Please reach out to Matthew or Megan Bowman if you have any questions.
