Cody and Briana’s son Kayson has been seriously ill for the past two weeks. What started as flu-like symptoms turned out to be salmonella and severe inflammation in his intestines and appendix, which led to him being air-lifted to the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton for surgery to remove his appendix.

His recovery has had both good and difficult days, and Cody and Briana have been by his side nonstop. During this time, they’ve also been separated from their daughters, Payton (7) and Macey (3), adding emotional stress to an already overwhelming situation.

The financial strain has become significant. Briana has been off work for two weeks, Cody has taken time off as well, and the costs of travel, food, parking, and hotels continue to add up quickly. With Christmas coming and their wedding planned for early January, their savings have been stretched as far as they can go.
