CJ is in a fight for his life!
CJ suffers from a rare Autoimmune Encephalitis Disease called DPPx that attacks his central nervous system. DPPx  effects CJ's vision, memory, cognition, motor functions, and causes him to wake dozens of times throughout the night while trying to sleep.  CJ is 1 of only 39 known diagnosed cases in the world. He has battled this disease for over  6 years. And over those years he has been in and out of multiple hospitals where he has battled for his life similarly as he is doing now.

CJ's Condition Now:
Recently CJ's condition has worsened to the point that he needs emergency treatments and procedures along with ICU care. CJ is currently in ICU care on a ventilator because of his unusually low oxygen levels, and his confusion. CJ's local doctors have decided that it is extremely necessary for CJ to return to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota (where he was original diagnosed with DPPx), so he can be seen by a team of physicians and specialist that could help save CJ's life.

Why we started this campaign:
The main reason is to spread CJ's story to people and to reach out for help during this time of need. We are uncertain on how long it will take before CJ is recovered from this most recent event. During this time CJ's mother has to take FMLA (Family and Medical Leave Act)  through March to be with CJ. After CJ is stable he is needing to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN for an unknown amount of time where him and his mother will be staying in hotels and visiting the Mayo Clinic to try and figure a plan of action to help CJ.

Any Donations, Support, or Prayers are appreciated more than you can imagine!!!

Update on our Superman!
Wanted to let everyone know that CJ was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon.
Thank you Jesus!!
He had a pretty good night last night, but has been very tired today!!
Home health came out today for admission and he will have nursing care for his perm cath...PT to help regain some strength and muscle mass due to him losing around 35 lbs in 3 weeks....he will also.have speech therapy to help with his vocal cord paralysis (could be product of disease or being on the ventilator) which has taken his voice and his ability to swallow liquids without aspirating on them.
He’s so very appreciative for all that has been done. I can’t walk in his room for any reason without him telling me thank you and that he loves me. His heart is HUGE!!
He has a genuine love and appreciation for you all!
We are looking forward to great progress the next 10 days and then it’s off the Mayo. Pray that his team of doctors have some much needed data that can help CJ have a healthy productive life.
All he wants is to be normal...to be able to do the little simple things that so many (including myself) take for grated!!
WRBL will be doing a follow up on CJ tonight in their 10 pm ct news cast, during Teresa Whitaker’s health watch. God sent us a angel in this sweet lady, she never discouraged me in expressing our faith in CJs progress!
God is Good y’all! ❤️

We give God all the Glory!!!
The set backs only make the come backs sweeter!!
He still has a long way to go, pray he can continue to keep his oxygen levels up, continue to get stronger.
