We are raising funds to help CIC Theater build out its new home at 4301 N Western Ave in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago.
CIC is a 501C3 non-profit improv theater and training center that's called North Center home for more than 20 years. We provide Chicago artists with affordable training and a place to hone their craft, and the community with a top notch improv experience at little or no cost.
CIC was forced to leave its space on Irving Park Rd in 2022. After an exhaustive search, we've found a new home inside The Western Bar & Kitchen. We will open a dedicated performance and training space this fall!
We have begun to build out the theater space. Taking a space from the studs to a completed theater is a costly endeavor. Every penny raised will go directly towards covering the costs of construction.
Those costs include:
- New HVAC ($17,000)
- Electrical ($15,000)
- Light and Sound ($10,000)
- General Construction(walls and ceilings type stuff)($10,000)
CIC has not been able to produce shows in our own space four of the last five years, due first to the pandemic, and then landlord shenanigans. The theater has funds in place to cover many of these costs, but your donation will help keep CIC on a strong financial footing as we start our next chapter in a new home.
