In 2021, Chuck received a heart transplant that gave him a new lease on life. Since then, he has faced additional health challenges. During and after his heart transplant, complications and necessary medications caused significant kidney damage.

Over the past four years, Chuck has been managing chronic kidney disease, which has required frequent hospital visits, ongoing treatment, and regular travel between Fargo and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.

He is finally receiving his kidney transplant, an important next step toward improving his health and quality of life. We’re incredibly grateful that this transplant will be possible thanks to a living donor. This selfless gift means more than words can express and gives Chuck the opportunity for improved health and more time with family.

While we’re grateful for excellent medical care, the costs that come with a transplant extend far beyond the surgery itself. Even with insurance, there are substantial out-of-pocket expenses, including:

• Surgery and hospital bills

• Anti-rejection medications

• Travel and lodging for appointments

• Follow-up care and recovery needs

These expenses add up quickly, especially with ongoing trips to Rochester before and after the transplant.

We’ve created this fundraiser to help offset those costs and allow Chuck to focus on his recovery without added financial stress. Our goal is to raise $15,000 to help cover these medical and travel expenses. Any amount is appreciated, and sharing this page with others is just as helpful.
