Hi, my name is Dante, I'm the oldest of my Dad's 4 children. I've watched my dad, Christopher Austin, take a deep decline. 5 years ago, he suffered a mild heart attack, which left him with heart failure. His heart is now only working at 20% capacity, as the average heart works at 55%, contributing to high blood pressure, shortness of breath, and extreme fatigue. His cardiologist is giving him
3 months to see if his heart starts to strengthen, and if not, then a defibrillator will be surgically put into his chest.
My dad has always been the rock of our family,
the man that we look up to, the man we lean on
and turn to for advice and encouragement. So you
can only imagine how it must feel to see my dad go
through all this agony.
Just recently, my dad was diagnosed with prostate
cancer, scoring 9.0 on the Gleason score, second-highest on the scale. Gleason 9 means the cancer is aggressive
and is likely to spread quickly. 10 of the 12 samples tested positive for cancer, so we're praying that the cancer stays local and has not spread through his body. A bone scan
has been scheduled in the next couple of weeks to determine if it has spread throughout his body, as well as a cystocopy. A procedure to determine if the cancer has spread to his bladder.
This has put such overwhelming stress on our
family, both mentally, physically, and financially.
My dad was working in the medical manufacturing field, but has now been unable to work since June 2025, because of his looming heart conditions, thus presenting
more challenges than solutions.
My dad has always been the rock of our family,
the man that we look up to, the man we lean on
and turn to for advice and encouragement. So you
can only imagine how it must feel to see my dad go
through all this agony.
So from the bottom of my heart, I personally want
to thank you all for taking the time to read our story.
Every and any contributions would help ease our burdens and thus allow my dad the time to focus on his health
and his family's future. Even if you can't donate,
please share this page and keep my dad in your thoughts
and prayers.
Many thanks
DANTE
