My name is Jennifer. Christina is my sister, my best friend, my person. On 12/12/24, our world fell apart. My sister suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm, which, come to find out, was her second one that week. I find it hard to put this into words to you all as my heart is completely broken. But she needs our support.
On Tuesday, 12/10, her day started off like normal. At the end of the night, before she left from work, she started having severe pain in her head. She tried to drive home, but she started having blurred vision along with the pain in her head. Our parents picked her up. She was suffering with severe pain in her head, blurred vision, and vomiting at that time. (This was her 1st aneurysm—our 1st miracle.) She thought she was “having a bad migraine.” She thought it would go away; her symptoms did lessen some but never went away. In the early morning hours of 12/12, she went to the hospital. They ran blood tests, did scans, and everything showed normal. Then they did a spinal tap. There were red blood cells… this was the start of our actual living nightmare. They talked to her about doing an angiogram to check for an aneurysm. The doctors were “99%” certain that they would find nothing, but without doing the angiogram, they couldn’t say with 100% certainty. The brave person my sister is, said, “I am here, might as well!” They were able to get her in for the procedure shortly after that. They took my sister at 5:40 PM. They came out a short time later to tell us that they found an aneurysm and that they were going to coil it. Again, reassuring us that they were very confident they could do this with no problem, but there was risk and danger associated with it. They came to Don and me one more time to tell us that they had a problem and the aneurysm was bleeding. My amazing sister made it through all of this! I will never understand why such a beautiful person has been through such a terrible thing, but I will forever be grateful that she is here with us. She is our miracle.
The love and support that everyone has shown to her and my family is a testament to the person that she is. We will forever be grateful for all of your love, support, and prayers. Please don’t stop praying for her.
She is getting a little better each day. We understand she may have some good days and bad. She has a long road ahead of her and will be out of work for an unknown period of time.
Many of you have asked how you can help. Luckily, they have insurance for their hospital bills. But as you all know, she makes her money making everyone look their best! While she loves you all and wants to get back to doing that, she needs to take the time to let herself heal. We are fundraising to support her during this time when she cannot work and needs to focus on her recovery.
