Friends, colleagues, and extended community –
Do you like cheese? Do you like Phish, trivia, disc golf, tall people, lizards, or beards? Then you probably love Christopher J Fabry; purveyor of Phish music and facial hair stylings, long-chucker of discs, bluest of eyes, memorizer of Wikipedia, exceptional biologist, Yankees fan (no one is perfect), kindest of souls, and lover of Joni.
Unfortunately, our good friend and colleague, Chris Fabry, has been dealt a rotten hand. He has been diagnosed with stage four of a rare form of pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs. He and Joni are in consultation with several doctors in the Vegas area and at UCLA. There are many questions that still need answers, but the unifying theme is that his condition appears to be incurable. They plan to travel to Connecticut soon to be with Chris’s family and to hopefully explore possible treatments.
I know you will all join me in extending copious amounts of love and support to Fabry and Joni, but I hope you will also help to provide some level of financial relief. I set the goal at $25k because I don’t know what’s realistic or how these things work, but I hope we can exceed that. They are amassing an unknown amount of medical and travel expenses on top of not being able to work for who knows how long. Fabry and Joni DO NOT currently know we are starting this fund for them.
