Help Support Chesterfield's Trip Home

(With loving approval from his family, we are sharing the below information) This urgent GoFundMe is set up for our dear friend Chesterfield Clarke on behalf of his Uncle/Aunt in Philly to raise funds for medical travel and incidentals.

At the beginning of September, our dear friend Chesterfield flew home to Barbados to visit friends and family (as he has done many times). He was expected home in California after 10 days. Many friends, including his co-workers, noticed that he was not posting like he normally does on Facebook and started reaching out to one another. It was soon discovered through a series of connections that upon his arrival to Barbados, he suffered a massive stroke. He is currently staying in one of the main hospitals, however, due to the severity of his stroke, is paralyzed and unable to form / communicate sentences. He can answer direct questions that requires, "Yes" and "No" responses.

A few of us have been in contact with his current employer and his Uncle Harvey in Philly. A friend in Barbados visited him the other day and noted he was extremely happy to have visitors. His Uncle visited him in the hospital when he learned of Chesterfield's hospital stay. He has expressed to his Uncle the desire to return stateside to California where he can get the rehab and treatment he needs to get through this. Barbados is a small island and is not equipped to give him the best chance rehabilitate.

We are asking for all of his friends and families to help contribute towards his return. We have received a quote from one transport service called US Air Ambulance for approximately $12,000 to provide a trained Medical Nurse to travel with him, transport by ambulance from the hospital in Barbados, to the airport, a long airflight to LAX where he will then be transported by ambulance to the local hospital in South County. His Medical doctor here is aware of his previous medical history and his current situation. His Uncle would need to travel with the team as Chesterfield does not have family here in California and help get him situated with medical and social needs. If you can help alleviate the costs for Chesterfield and his family it is much appreciated. His Uncle Harvey Clarke will be the full beneficiary of these funds to pay for the Air Ambulance and help his Uncle/Aunt as they will need to be here in California to set Chesterfield up towards his road to recovery (and manage his expenses). Note, any additional funds beyond our ask will help his Uncle and Aunt care for him in California. Thank you!
