Help Support Charlie & Tommy Dauphin

Hi, my name is Adam Everingham. I'm raising funds for Nick and Rose to help support Charlie and Tommy Dauphin.

The story so far;

Rose was 25 weeks pregnant. On the 8th of May, Monday morning while getting ready for work, Rose was feeling that something wasn’t right. So thinking it was something minor, they decided just to get it checked at the hospital. As soon as they got to hospital the doctors had a look and informed Rose that she was experiencing some light contractions. Concerned with the overall situation, the doctors decided to transfer her to the Royal Brisbane Women’s hospital just as a precaution.

Monday evening passed and contractions seemed to subside. During the night, contractions started to increase again and Rose was put on various pain killers to help ease the pain. At 6am 9th May, Tuesday morning, Rose informed the nurse that the pain seemed to get more intense. Doctors had a look and it was confirmed that Rose needed an emergency c-section right away as Twin A was presenting lots of cord and was breech. As Rose was on her own, she called Nick and said they were about to take her into theatre to get prepared for the c-section. Nick had 1.5 hours to arrive to the hospital, and he just made it in time!

Everything happened so fast, they couldn’t believe the twins were coming today!

Tommy was born at 8:53am weighing in at 856 grams,

Charlie was at 8:56am weighing in at 900 grams.

Unfortunately on Thursday both had head scans and were confirmed to have a bleed in the brain, Charlie suffering from a grade 2/3 bleed and Tommy suffering a grade 4 bleed (grade 1 low risk, grade 4 high risk). Charlie has also struggled with his lungs, resulting in excess air in his chest cavity, meaning a chest tube had to be put in to help relieve the air. At the present they are both stable, but require constant checkups and close examinations by the doctors. It’s going to be a long, hard journey for this family.
