At just 38 years old, our dear friend Chaddy Seaward is in the fight of his life. Diagnosed with severe COPD caused by Alpha-1-antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency, a rare genetic condition that damages both the lungs and liver, Chaddy’s lung function has now plummeted to just 19%. His only hope lies in a double lung transplant.

This life-saving surgery means Chaddy must relocate to Toronto for several months, leaving behind his beloved son, Jack, and the life he’s worked so hard to build. Unable to work due to his health, Chaddy is facing mounting medical, home, childcare, and living expenses. Despite his own struggles, he’s always been the first to lend a helping hand. Now, it’s our turn to help him.

Chaddy, born and raised in Pasadena Newfoundland, is more than an incredible father and devoted son; he’s a friend to all, known for his kindness, generosity, and heart of gold.
