Update

Today is 3 weeks since my accident, 21 days in hospital led on my back.

my injuries are fractured ribs, heel was shattered and ended up being pushed up towards to my toes. I ruptured my rectum. I fractured my pelvis in many places, shattered my sacrum and severed my spinal column from my pelvis and my incision is currently infected and I am on more antibiotics to fight that, there is some severe nerve damage and numbness throughout parts of my body. sensation is slowly coming back but we are unsure what will actually return.

To date I had three surgeries. five procedures three colonoscopies, 7xrays, four CT scans, three units of blood and another surgery booked for Tuesday.

It will be another 9 weeks before I'm able to teach myself how to walk again and bear weight on my bones.

I am taking three different types of pain medicine every 3 hours, some every 6 hours. IV antibiotics three times a day. two different bags, countless stool softeners and enemas.
It took me 13 days to make my first bowel movement and another eight to make my second one. my appetite is basically non-existent.

I have received a lot of support from family and friends, and the wonderful community of Shea Heights and even strangers. this battle wouldn't be possible without my close friends and family to help me, they answer their phones at 3:00 a.m. 5:00 a.m. or anytime of the day when I'm in pain and need some distraction.
I'm never pain free. just some moments are better than others.

I appreciate all the comments and messages and even though I don't have the energy to respond to every message and comment. I do take time to read everyone.

please help by donating to my GoFundMe or sharing it. everything helps.

very grateful to be alive - Chad Keough

Hello Everyone,

My family and I are kindly asking for your help and support right now. On Friday, August 11, 2023, my brother, Chad, was involved in a serious motor vehicle accident, resulting in dibilitating injuries and an extensive journey to recovery.

The aftermath of this horrible accident has had a profound impact on Chad's physical health, as well as the emotional well-being of both him and his family. As they navigate through this life-altering event, they are faced with the additional burden of losing their primary financial provider for the unforeseeable future. We, as Chad's family, are humbly asking for the generous consideration of family, friends, and kind strangers to help alleviate the financial strain they face.

Chad is a devoted father to his 3 children, Patrick, Leah, and Emily; his loving fiance, Krista; and, he's an irreplaceable friend to many. Despite the challenges he faces, Chad is determined to recover and return home to his family, friends, and the life he loves.

This fundraiser aims to provide some much-needed relief to Chad's family to allow them to focus solely on his recovery.

Any monetary contribution made, no matter the amount, will make a huge difference for Chad and his family while they navigate this challenging time.

My family and I are kindly asking for those who see this and read Chad's story to please share this page to friends, family, and your community. Every contribution means one less worry for Chad and his family during this difficult time.

Thank you for your generosity and support. From the bottom of our hearts, we are eternally grateful.

Jay Keough and the Keough Family.
