Help support Carrie during her liver transplant journey!

Hi, my name is Tina. My girlfriend/life partner, Carrie, has been battling liver failure for about 8 years. There have been friends and family who have offered to donate a portion of their liver to save her life, but those opportunities have not worked out, as they were livers which didn't match hers well enough.

Carrie's health has been rapidly failing for the past year, and she has been rapidly deteriorating over the past few months. About two weeks ago, Carrie was given a prognosis of six months if she does not get a liver. This was a grim and frightening prospect.

However, just tonight we received a call from Henry Ford Transplant Center, informing us that we must be at the hospital at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning, as they have found a liver for Carrie. We see this is a Christmas miracle. We were really getting down to the wire here, and a miracle came through for us.

Henry Ford is about three hours away from home, and I will need to stay in a motel while Carrie is in the hospital after her surgery. I will need funds for the motel and for food and drink. In addition to the motel time after her surgery, there will be expenses for gas as we will be traveling back to the hospital three times a week for checkups once she has been released to come home. This is a six hour round trip drive each time. These are expenses we truly cannot afford at this time, as I have recently become disabled myself and have very little income.

We have been unsuccessful in our attempts to get her insurance provider, Blue Care Network, to commit to covering at least the motel expense. I am asking anyone who is able, to please help me with these expenses. I understand that with Christmas rapidly approaching, this is not a good time to ask for money. I am asking anyway. I do not want to leave her alone in the hospital after the surgery. I want and need to be there for her during this time. Please give if you can. If you can't help financially, please take the time to share this to your page so that others may possibly help or share as well. Thank you so much for your consideration. This is our Christmas miracle, and maybe you could help make it an even greater miracle for us.

Thank you!
