Meet Bryson and his family!
For those that don't know him, Bryson is a fun-loving, adventurous six year-old who has a big heart! Just a few weeks ago, Bryson fell on the ice while ice fishing. He then started having massive headaches. His Dr said he had post concussion and ordered an MRI. The headaches grew worse over the day and evening. Medication didn't help, so Mom, Dad, and Bryson headed to the ER. Bryson had a CT scan done. That scan didn't pick anything up so home they went for more rest.
As symptoms continued to worsen and not improve, Bryson went to another hospital for more answers and a second opinion. They were told that the headaches could be from his cold he had. The plan was to still have an MRI. Back home for more rest they went.
Just days after the second opinion, on March 9, Bryson woke up not being able to walk on his own. He said his legs hurt and then he would fall over. His PCP requested that they head south to Barbara Bush Children's Center for more tests and answers. He was admitted and rushed in for emergency brain surgery to remove the infection from blood that pooled on his brain. The amazing doctors were able to remove most of the infection. The surgery was followed by an MRI. A blood clot in his brain was found and the doctors will continue to monitor. At that time, the family was informed that the doctors believe that this was caused by a sinus infection, and not the fall/suspected concussion.
The latest update is that on March 10, Bryson went back in for another surgery (this time through his nostril) to remove the infection in his sinuses. He also started PT earlier in the day as he can not use his left arm or leg when he was up.
The family is not one to ask for help, but I felt this was a way to stay connected/updated, hear his story, and rally together to support and ease the family with this unexpected financial burden. Please consider supporting him and his family during these uncharted times. The money donated will help with bills, gas money, food, and more! Please continue to send positive thoughts and prayers to this amazing fighter! And at the very least, share his story.
